    Wallabies Lock: Sharpe or Vickerman?

I think I can predict the outcome, but why not - who is your preferred STARTER for the Wallabies?

    Easy question coach.
But this isn't because I'm force biased. If you play well in the super season you get REWARDED with wallabies selection!

That's the wait it has always happened.
I could maybe see what's going on if vickerman had played a fucking blinder of a season up north but not for this case!
Total bullshit- even if we were having a rotation policy for the world cup, sharpes record speaks for itself he's barely missed a game in how many years now?
Not to mention that you need match fitness to be ready to play against the likes of the pons and the welsh in the world cup

I could go on but I've had enough of talking about pointless shit today.

Is this poll redundant or rhetorical?

Vickerman returning is a little unknown to the ALL BLACKS... He worries them, he has attitude... Sharpie is a gentleman lock and a good one but they know him and all his brings.

Yeah but are we going to tear their line-out to bits like we should if Sharpie was there? Last time Sharpie was out and Chisholm and Horwill ran the line-out (2009 Spring Tour I think) it was a shambles. Sure Simmons might be better than those two as a caller but its not like he has been tested against a proper opposition. The South Africans pretty much had their 6th and 7th choice locks.

Don't forget that had Sharpie played a full 80 against the Reds in both our games this year we would almost definitely be sitting on two wins over them.

long time lurker here, I can't help but want to weigh in on this...

I don't think Sharpe being dumped is an insult but a strategy. He's a proven performer in big games, there's no need to risk him before the WC. Let the young guns (or in vickermans case, rusty gun) work on their combinations and save Sharpe for the big pressure matches. Lets face it, if he can bring Wykes up to near-test selection, i'm sure he can work with the newbies Timani and Simmons.

Same goes for Giteau. Despite what people say he is no 10 but he is a damn good 12 - why keep using a known performer like him when we need to work on skilling up backup 12s who only have a small fraction of the test caps he has.

The last thing we want is another Barnes for Larkham replacement this WC. Deans is being smart and getting some of the new guys some pressure tests against the best teams in the world.

Anyway, that's my 5c worth. Back to the shadows I go....

His season did loads to solidify my opinion that he is not a 10. His performance has just been studied to death by other teams, now they have him all wrapped up. Hence why he can't be 10.

So much for the shadows, you've unleashed my inner rant!

Well, now that you mention it.......

Seriously though, as long as you hold an opinion on any matter eater than pointlessly talk shit up to get a reaction, most people around here will get along pretty well.

I don't care if you think Gits is a great 12 and I think he'd be a great 12 if he could only get his considerably inflated head out of his ass. I can agree to disagree, as long as you argue respectfully and it doesn't degenerate to pointless contradiction I'll respect you.

    Ps Giteau is cursed!

Jono's been taking his tough pills again Sir...

    Welcome from the shadow's vasdee

If you have been lurking as you suggest then we won't need to go into my position on Giteau...

With the caveat that I don't believe Test Caps are for fucking with, I think you are probably onto something re Sharpey. So long as it doesn't gnaw at his confidence (I doubt it) he doesn't need to be getting match time to perform when required. What I do worry about though is that the rest of the pack (well, apart from Pocock) need to be playing under him to get 100% familiar before the pressure comes on in NZ.
