Vickerman is memorable for a teary eyed slap at the Pom halfback in the 2007 RWC quarter debacle. That brutish pom 9 jeered and taunted him.

The bloke is 10 yards behind play these days. It's like watching a Golden oldies game as you focus on Vickerman.

It's a farking circus that he's in the wallabies.

It's an insult to the blokes who stayed in Oz to qualify for RWC 2011

    It stinks

    I'm angry

Sharpe was one of he form locks in Super 15

Vickerman played 20 mins for the Tahs and hardly made it to a ruck

    I'm p1ssed

    I'm angry

    I'm ropeable

Deans clearly has it in for Sharpe. He's not in the Deans equation. Vickerman has been on Deans' radar for years as he played schoolboys standard with the Toffs and drank too much p1ss and ate "spotted dick" puddings in the old dart.

    It's a farking disgrace

    Did I mention I was p1ssed off?

Don't panic Rex....last time deans dropped Sharpie he tore it up so hard that nobody in their right mind could leave him out.....he'll be back, and the economy drive will bite the selectors in the arse

Vickerman won't last another 3 games before he buggers a shoulder and is out for the year.

Sharpie isn't the quickest lock going around, and perhaps not the best scrummager (though our scrum went alright this year). But his takes at kick-offs, lineouts, his calls at lineouts and his ball carries (which now also feature cheeky passes) set him above Horwill, Simmons and Timani. I am hoping this is just a break while Deansy works out how fit Vicks is and how much Timani can do.

Hope you're right and he's back in the starting 15 for the RWC. It just makes no sense experimenting for this massive game though.

I hope Deans is just preserving Sharpie (33 years) like de Villiers is preserving Matfield (34 years).

Deans obviously doesnt rate Sharpie as this is the second time he's dumped him. Lets hope that Sharpie can come back again. But I can't see what he has to prove.
And what the hell is Fainga the Reds hooker doing in the squad? He is a bloody waste of space.

I'd like to think this was Deans testing new players, but doubt it is the case for what might be the only live Bledisloe game. How big a dent would it put in the ABs psyche if the Wallabies could get up in this game? How much more money would the return match be worth if it were actually deciding the Bledisloe for the year? For mine, far to big a game to be messing around with, so suggests that Sharpie really is on the outer.

I think he is testing players. The best tests are the big ones. Sure it would be great to beat the AB's at home but we haven't done it for ages and no one expects us to really do it this time. On top of that I, for one, don't want to give the AB's a wake up call before the world cup. I'd rather they got complacent when they play us in the final

Sharpie has done well, over 90 caps and tens representing his country. Brilliant effort but he can't be surprised that a new generation of player has shown up at Wallabies camp and has the advantage of youth. He still may slip into the RWC30 man squad.

There is a poll on rugby heaven asking which player you would prefer to have in the wallabies team. Vickerman is leading 52% to 48% after 5571 votes.

I am not sure if this means that we are biased because we are Force fans and all think that Sharpe is the best, or maybe the website is eastern states biased and they didn't see how good Sharpie was during the S15?

I think we are kidding ourselves if we think Sharpie is being rested. If he was in the best 22 then he would be in this game. He just needs to hope he still gets in the 30 man squad and can force his way back in from there.

Vicks vs Sharpie is a bogus poll. The issue is whethre Sharpie is in the top 4 locks in Australia. I say yes, and many would say top 4 in the world.
