Sharks testing water for SBW and Cooper

Cronulla coach Shane Flanagan has confirmed that the Sharks have made inquiries about luring Sonny Bill Williams and Quade Cooper to the NRL, and he believes the move could be the saviour of the club, if successful. As revealed in last Saturday's Herald, the Sharks asked Lance Thompson - a recent addition to Cronulla's coaching staff - to contact the star duo's manager, Khoder Nasser, about the possibility of them switching codes. ''Lance is good mates with him [Nasser], so I just asked him to see where they were at and what their plans were,'' Flanagan told SinBin. ''We would probably have to sell a floor of the leagues club to be able to afford them but it is the sort of thing that could turn our club around. If they were to come it would create massive interest for the club and sponsors would want to get on board.'' Cooper is set to sign a one-year extension with the ARU that would see him off contract again at the same time Williams's agreement precluding his playing for another NRL club before 2013 expires.

    UNHAPPY ISRAEL

Speculation that Israel Folau is also set to return to the NRL won't go away, with SinBin told the AFL convert was sick of the constant dieting he has to endure. The former Test star has already been linked with Newcastle, Penrith and Parramatta next season.

Interesting. Predictable. Don't think Messers Sheedy and Dietriou will be too impressed at the cameramen finding "The Face of AFL" sitting in the crowds at RL matches either.

The other bloke seems to be making a reasonable fist of the switch so far though. I'd take odds to him going for the next leg in his "quaddy" after his AFL contract - an All Black shirt.

Tell me any side in either code in any country who wouldn't be. The list of those who ca afford him would be very short. Those who could afford both would be even shorter.

SBW cant play League till 2014 in Australia, so thats out.
Cooper cant tackle 1 on 1, so thats him out of League

Who's kidding who, maybe the media is a little bored and someone at the coffee shop around the corner drops a name and the media is on it like a seagull to a chip.

Breaking news ---- Willie Mason to return to Sharks to join SBW and Cooper at the Western Sharks, and JOC returned back to Perth after stint with Reds in '12. *cronulla was considering the idea of relocation to Perth from 2013*

I'm pretty sure that SBW can play for another League club from 2013 - 2012 if another club buys out the last year of the Bulldogs deal
