Queensland Reds end seven-year losing run against New South Wales Waratahs with 19-15

Pretty intense game. Nothing better then watching Queenslanders and Tahds smash the crap out of each other.
Waugh was an idiot for not taking the penalty shots.
What was Hickey thinking taking Waugh off for McCutcheon????

Anyways word is Drew Mitchell is out of the world cup with a ankle/leg fracture.

Did anyone notice most of the regular allblacks were missing from the Highlanders/Crusaders game or were sitting on the bench while the 2 powerhouse provinces in Australia supplying most of the wallabies were absolutely belting the crap out of each other, even forcing guys like Palu, Waugh to return from injury sooner then normal.
Coopers kicking for territory was attrocious.
Tatafu Polota Nau is being seen regularly every game now with his shoulder in pain. If he's not fit then he needs to rest and recover fully.

Well done Reds, they have a great opportunity to go on with it now.
If they are the real deal, looking at the road home from here, I have laid out what I would think they would consider the minimum expectations from each round:

    Round V Loc Res Min
    11 Hurricanes A W 5
    12 Rebels A W 5
    13 Blues H W 4
    14 BYE - - 5
    15 Crusaders H W 2
    16 Brumbies H W 4
    17 Force A W 4
    18 Chiefs A W 4

Given close to that (ie MINIMUM, not winning each match) then they are certainly finals bound.
The rest of the combined ladder is pretty sad reading for Australia at the moment though

According the the SMH he dislocated the ankle. RWC very doubtful - they can take up to a year to get right. That's a real blow considering his form. Bummer.

Seemed to get it out of his system by the end of it. Despite the spray approach, did he actually have a point?

Phil Waugh is a miserable sook and a woeful captain. He epitomises all that is wrong with Waratah rugby - a huge chip on the shoulder, blaming everyone but themselves for their failures rather than undertakng constructive self-examination.

Waratah rugby will only recover once Phil Waugh leaves rugby.

QLD got across the gain line more, made more line breaks, missed less tackles, ran more meters...

Yet Phil Waugh acts like a a sour puss and tries to justify his decision for not going for goal..

QLD took advantage of every time they entered the Tahs half my taking points, the Tahs didnt, whether that was part of the game plan by restricting how much ball the Reds had or because Phil Waugh was so arrogant in his refusal to alter there game plan to suit the opposition is anyone's guess.

That's all fine too, but the point he is highlighting is in his opinion the Tahs had the ascendency in the scrum but were not being rewarded by the Ref. That is what I am asking about if he had a point or not, not the rest of the match.

Grow den certainly thought the tahs had it over the Reds scrum, both props picked in his team of the week.........not exactly an unbiased opinion I know, but they're the only tahs he picked!
