The LJ Hooker Kalamunda Bulls will have their hands full this Saturday when they take on defending premiers West’s – Subiaco at Hartfield Park on Saturday. Both teams are improving after a slow start to the season and the young Bulls will be looking to add another scalp at home.

Traditionally the fiercest of rivals the two clubs have a long history together and not all of it good. These days the battle is hard fought on the field and the traditional Miss Kalamunda Show is held after the game in the spirit of camaraderie.

Last week the Kalamunda Coaching staff swung the axe and dropped some back line players to the reserves for poor game efforts. It looks like no changes are to be made this week and this should benefit the team with familiarity among the positions.

The Bulls will be without star prop Fihi Kivilu this weekend with Aaron Minett coming in as his replacement. Minett will bring better scrummaging skills to the role but the Kalamunda staff would be looking for a big improvement from him around the field with ball in hand.

This weekend will again see the team cheered on by the Powerdrive Kalamunda Cheerleaders who, at the last home game, had the crowd singing and chanting in support. This weekend they will again select the best home supporter for a Supporter of the Day award of club merchandise.

Following the completion of the play the Kalamunda Club will host a traditional Maori hangi and then hold the annual Miss Kalamunda Show. The participants are “lovely ladies” supplied from team members of both clubs.
