I love the concept that Beale is a "natural league player". League is much more defence orientated
My 75 year old mum is a safer defensive option than Beale. Man, she hits hard. Kurtley looks very dodgy under the hgh ball and unless he gets a lot of help with cover defence, the Tahs/wallabies are in trouble if the line is broken.
If they tried to hide him at fullback in league he would get bombed. If he played in the line he'd have backrowers running at him all day like they have done to Mortimer at the eels. He needs to improve a lot in D

Bit of common sense added to this little conversation. I think the anti all things RL stance of a few of our fellow posters possibly stems from the fact that some of them are from places where it isn't played to any standard. Or they hail from where a more bitter rivalry exists between the codes. Some just don't get that it's actually possible appreciate both. Spoils the pissing contest.

Rex has avalid (and bloody obvious) point about both KB and Cooper's defensive liabilities. Plenty of RL coaches would question whether risk/return is worth it.

Beale has improved in the defence department as demonstrated numerous times last year. Beale is a natural footballer and would make it in the NRL as he has in Rugby. I have had the pleasure of knowing Glen (he's coached both my brother and I, I have played club games against and Rep Rugby with his son Daniel) and he's a coy operator. He's just making the point that he has a potential Superstar in his stable and that he will attract a significant amount of interest from League come contract talks. Its a heads up for the ARU. Glen is a Rugby man and I can tell you he'd be wanting to see Beale stay put.

Let me tell you the name of the game, boy. They call it riding the gravy train.
