    AFTER travelling the.

AFTER travelling the world as a former Wallaby and Western Force player, Scott Staniforth is calling Perth home – for now at least.

The 33-year-old Cottesloe resident and father of three retired from professional rugby late last year because of a neck injury.

The former backman and his wife Emma, both from New South Wales, first came to Perth six years ago and immediately fell in love with Cottesloe.

“I was sitting at the OBH (Ocean Beach Hotel) on a beautiful day, drinking a beer, looking out at the ocean and thought, this isn’t a bad place,” he remembered.

The couple bought their Congdon Street home two years ago.

“We love Federation homes, and their olden- day charm,” Scott said. “And the Cottesloe lifestyle – there aren’t too many places in the world where you can walk your kids to school,” he said.

The lounge room of the Staniforth home is an important place: the first place that Molly (8), Harry (6) and Edie (5) assemble after waking up and the last place where the couple can enjoy some quiet time after their little ones go to bed.

It is also filled with cherished relics from the nomadic family’s life, Scott’s Apple toys (he is into his technology), a large professional photograph of his children on the beach, and some bohemian-inspired designer pieces.

Emma has a background in interior design and currently works for high end WA fashion label Flannel.

In turn, last month, Scott was appointed business development manager of property funds management group Otan.

Explaining to his children that he would no longer be playing rugby, son Harry sighed and said, “It’s ok Dad, you can just play for the Eagles now.”
