    world cup fall out....

interesting to see Qatar after the world cup 2022, are planning on dismantling their world cup stadia, and shipping them some of the worlds poorer football countries..... colin barnett get on the phone and try to secure one!!!

footnote...qatar has a population of approx 1.6 million, alcohol is only available at licensed restaurants and in hotel bars, beer costs $11.00 a pint, and getting drunk in public is against the law, fans found drunk in public face arrest and deportation, temperatures up to 50' in summer,

I have heard that joke several times today, the alarming part is it's true!

Being a big fan of all things Liverpool but nothing soccer (one of the many complexites in my life), I'm quite happy with the result even if it means no grand stadium for Perth (I'm sure we'll get there in the end).

What makes you think it is a joke? Have a look at some of the stadia in "third world" countries and I'd say that Perth more than qualifies as underprivileged (if not worse). Lucky we have loads of awesome hospitals, museums, theatres, concert halls, airports, train stations and bridges instead....oh, no, that's right, we swapped all them for low taxes, no stamp duty, cheap power, plentiful water and the safest streets in the world....hey, hang on...

..you forgot the wonderful roads that surround the city's marvellous river allowing you to enjoy a scenic waterside view whilst gridlocked...
