Bingo! That's why Anthony Fiangia was great for Cooper at the Reds - he tackles his guts out, covers Quade's defence and allows QC the room to play his brilliant attacking game.

Flick Gits for A. Fiangia and the team goes much better.

Your kidding right? He has been a breath of fresh air for this team in the last 12 months. Keep changing the roster after someone has a quiet game and the team builds no momentum.

I'm sure none of you have really heard of Ashton and Cueto on the wings and what a real number 12 should be doing in Hape.
Totally agree with the first bit.

I don't know if you guys got any visual here back in Oz when the Force played Northampton a couple of years back but Ashton was a real menace with ball in hand inside the 22. I think he scored 2 tries against us and I think that was before he'd even had a season of Union. I was chatting to some Northampton fans and they said he'd come over from league and I was thinking that we'd run rings around that League bogan but no dice . Cueto has been around for a fairly long time.

Don't agree about Hape. He is useless.

Ohh and Sheikh- are you from Newcastle?

Trouble is tic, he is undoubtably a breath of fresh air in attack but also a big gulp of 3am reflux in defence.
At Test level you need to be at least above average in your weaker aspect.
I'm not advocating his dropping (well, maybe among many against Italy, but not long term) I'm advocating either finding players to cover his weakness and do some intense "Union Tackle 101" on him, as there is certainly no physical reason that I can see why he couldn't lay a decent tackle regularly. I often see him as and compare him to Benji Marshall and he has exactly the same problem, Attack = brilliant(ish for Cooper), Defence = toilet.

I agree burgs. Cooper's defense needs work, and there's no excuse when every quote I hear from people highly placed with the wallabies is that defense is mainly attitude. What's wrong with Cooper's attitude?

I actually think Quade should be dropped, he is a defensive liability which has been obvious to everyone for quite a while, dropping him might give him the wake up call to actually improve his tackling technique. better for everyone in the long term

I missed the start of the game, and went to bed with 4 minutes to go (can you blame me?) so may have missed news, but why were England wearing black jerseys?

And replace him with who exactly? Gits - ha! Sooky - well, the defence will improve, but the outside backs might as well go to the local pizzeria and enjoy a nice meal and a good bottle of red.

The answer is to put a hard tackling inside centre next to him - maybe Barnes could fit the role, but I think Anthony Fiangia deserves the chance first.

I think we all agree that Giteau is not the answer any more.

This is not a justification for QC's defence - it is below par, and he needs some solid work, but if his improving defence came at the expense of his good attacking game, then that would be a shame. I would be happy for a bit of a defensive improvement from him and additional protection beside him.
