    Faingaa cited over tackle

Wallabies reserve hooker Saia Faingaa has been cited for an alleged dangerous tackle during Saturday night's historic 41-39 victory over South Africa in Bloemfontein.

Faingaa had only been on the field four minutes when he was involved in a lifting tackle on Springboks forward Flip van der Merwe in the 69th minute.

The Australian was yellow-carded by English referee Wayne Barnes, sitting out the remainder of the Wallabies' heart-stopping win.

At the time it appeared Faingaa's ill-discipline would prove costly as the Boks extended their lead to 36-31 through a penalty goal.

Faingaa will face a SANZAR disciplinary hearing on Sunday evening (AEST).

A kick in this game is like a rather nasty alcoholic shooter, only as good as it's chaser...

Very lazy tackle, but when you consider it he should probably get 0 weeks due to him getting a card anyway.

Monumentally stupid thing to do, with the game poised as it was.

Probably be Edmonds, but I would start looking at one of the other young guns. Faingaa has been busy but imprecise in every aspect of his game, not a strong scrummager, a bit skittish on the throw and enthusiastic but not always effective around the field. Maybe it's time for a Whittaker/Charles/Fitzpatrick option (I assume there's a young bloke prancing about Queensland with a similar claim, but can't think of a name)

Not much of a surprise though!

Maybe the young blokes will get a slot for the spring tour.....god knows Oz is thin in the hooker dept right now.

Is there any news on TPN?

Should consider himself lucky, both in the "court" and for Burger, or really any number of hairybacks, not ripping his head off.

In the heat of battle, things happen. It isn't in the blokes nature. He was desperate to get the bloke to ground to kill the momentum. Normally he tackles very low and very effectively. I think he pulled out of it at the end.

The game has gone bloody soft. It deserved a bin. 2 weeks is farking ridiculous. The ref dealt with it on the field.

Drew Mitchell got sin binned against the Blicks for an accidental shoulder check on Ritchie McCaw. That was a disgrace.

Faingaa can fight real good. He would make a very good account of it especially coming on fresh against fat, beer swilling pie eating africaaners in the last few minutes of a rugby test at altitude.

I'd have some solid money on Faingaa if it turned to knuckles
