Stop relying on everyone else and fix the problems that exist first.

Funding just has to be found to support the WA clubs more. More professional coaches, better training and a greater emphasis on building bigger, fitter, stronger players.
S15 players will play in Perth when the standard is up there and not just by importing a few players.

Top line players and coaches have to be developed in the right framework that will support continuous improvement.
Structured weights and fitness sessions and more of them, skills sessions etc.
Sydney club rugby is semi-pro for a lot of players and they have access to a range of resources that WA clubs can only dream about. Some ACT clubs are catching up, Tuggeranong, Wests etc but if WA rugby is serious then bucks have to be spent in building the premiership clubs, getting more quality coaches, better facilities and a more professional attitude to playing top line rugby. Playing top flight rugby isn't a right, it has to be earned.

Paying imports isn't addressing the situation of developing a good comp, it is merely papering over the inadequacies that exist and it seems the solution for most clubs is to buy a solution. It doesn't help and just adds to the chorus of whinging that WA is hard done by. Get the local comp and players to the standard they need to be at. If anyone noticed the WA schools got thumped in almost every game, but Victoria scored plenty of points against good opposition. WA used to beat them all the time. Someone is getting it right.
Is there a front row academy in perth for juniors and seniors?
How many level 3 coaches?
Is there a monitor on fitness standards across the clubs to see if they are up to scratch?
Build it and they will come!!!
