SYDNEY (AFP) - England winger Matt Banahan has been suspended for two weeks after being found guilty of a lifting tackle during Tuesday's 15-9 win over the Australian Barbarians in Gosford.

Banahan was cited for a tackle on Berrick Barnes in the first half.

New Zealand judicial officer Peter Hobbs found Banahan guilty of the offence after reviewing television footage of the incident on Wednesday.

Banahan was unlikely to be named in the England team for Saturday's second Test against the Wallabies, but the ban means he will also miss the England clash with New Zealand Maori on June 23.
