    International Super Series Rugby

I stumbled onto this article in an South african newspaper and had to to translate it with a "translator" (and a bit of my own translations)

The competition will begin in January 2012 and will be based on the successful Indian Premier (IPL)-cricket series
More than 200 of the world's leading rugby players will be playing in the competition that will be hosted in Capetown and Durban and will be played in the new world cup stadiums.

Bok stars like John Smit, Victor Matfield, Bryan Habana, Schalk Burger, Jean de Villiers, Juan Smith, Jaque Fourie, Heinrich Brüssow and Bismarck du Plessis, as well as All Black stalwarts like Richie McCaw and Daniel Carter, the Aussie-iron Phil Waugh and the Wallaby-playmaker James O'Connor, are some of the prime candidates on the list of players. Numerous stars from England, France and Argentina will also participate.

They will play in a 3 week tournament and it could earn them millions.
The money players can earn in the new competition could be more than their total current yearly packages.
The former Springbok flanker Rassie Erasmus and Capetown attorney Frikkie Erasmus is part of the consortium that will manage the new competition
The South Afrikaans Rugby Union (Saru) has already discussed the competition and it approved in principle. Officials of Saru's say that it might blow new life into rugby.

The format and rules of the new competition that will be named the International Super Series Rugby is currently a big secret. However SPORT24 revealed that the plans for the competition will include for eight different teams on a round robin basis.

The top four teams will be in two semi finals with the winners in a final that will have big prize money

It will be a game of two halves of 20 minutes each.

All eight teams will play on the same day on the same field.
The participating teams will be sold as franchises to “business people”. The owners will build their teams from the available candidates at an auction where the players will be sold to the highest bidder
This will bring a mixture of nationalities bring - Kiwi, Aussie and Boks for example into one team playing against their country of origin-stars in the other teams.
To ensure that spectators at rapid and spectacular action exposed, some of the International Rugby Board (IRB) rules have been changed. The goal is to play faster and interruptions and delays to the absolute minimum.

All rule changes are not yet finalized, but information will be certain restrictions on the kick of the ball is placed.

Rules around problem areas such as the breakdown and scrums are also expected to be adapted to ensure the flow of play.

The broadcasting rights of the new competition is not yet sold, but international and South African TV companies are eager to snatch it up .
