    Dunning stayin from Yahoo sport

Former Wallabies prop Matt Dunning has received the all-clear from his wife to spend another Super rugby season at the Western Force.

Dunning's wife and two children remained in Sydney when he moved to Western Australia late last year and the 31-year-old had considered a move back east to be reunited with his family after just one season with the Force.

But the 115kg powerhouse, who made 11 appearances for the Force last season, will extend his stay in Perth after resisting the temptation to link up with new Super 15 franchise Melbourne Rebels.

"There are plenty of people in other jobs that do it a lot tougher than we will so in the end we were happy to do the same thing next year," Dunning said of his family situation.

"I was really happy with the Force last season.

"The first half of the year was tough with so many injuries to contend with but the second half of the season you could see the potential of the team.

"They are a good bunch of guys and I was keen to come back again.

"If we can stay relatively injury-free, I'm sure we can have a good crack at it next year."

Dunning was disappointed not to make the Wallabies squad for Tests against Fiji, England and Ireland, but hasn't given up hope of again representing Australia.

Force rugby manager Mitch Hardy said he expected Dunning to improve further with another season in Perth.

"Matt made a solid contribution to the squad in his first season and having a second year here will, I think, really see him flourish in the environment," Hardy said.

"He is pleased with how we've looked after him and managed his body and has enjoyed the opportunities that we've been able to offer him through the rugby programmes established in the west."

did'nt impress 2010 season would prefer to see local talent like longbottom get more time than dunning.Think he deserves starting spot more than Dunning.

With Henderson going, getting Dunning for another season is important.
His bonus over Longbum is that he can play both sides of the scrum.

I am really looking foward to seeing the two you local props in the academy get some game time in a few years time, and also Kyle Godwin.

don't think he gets around the park very well think longbottom is a lot more mobile and these days that is a big part of the game.Seen kyle training recently think he still has a long way to go but looking good for future be good to see him have a run in the academy team next saturday.

Yep agree, it was a signing they had to make.
Without Dunning or a replacement senior Prop who can go both sides we were looking a little vulnerable to injury.
I think he would also be disappointed with his season and will know 2011 he will be playing for his SH survival.
I'm by no means his biggest fan but he is experienced enough to turn his fortunes around. He has done it once already about four years ago.

He gave an interview about week 10 saying that he'd picked up a concussion in the Brumbies match (first game) and played with it most of the season.

I'm not Dunning's biggest fan, but if he was just here for the money he could have cried off for a couple of weeks citing injury. He didn't - he played on, albeit not at 100%. Once our hookers had picked up and Pek could cover at Prop he put his hand up and had a rest.

We're talking about Matt Dunning here.

Who knows how long his brain cells rattled around in there?

In some photos, he has a feminine face - for a bloke - a big hairy bloke, don't ya think?

Anyway, he's staying with the Force, and on that basis, I support him.

He was seriously ordinary this season and he knows it.His value for the the team this year and next is that he is a good team man. He knows is way around a scrum, albeit dodgy or not.If Mitch thought he was of no value, he would of given him the arse
