Just heard a report on ABC Radio that Rugby WA has been fined $110,000 for breaches of recruiting policy.

Rugby WA fined over Kanaar dealings
The Australian Rugby Union (ARU) has fined Rugby WA $110,000 in relation to its alleged dealings with New South Wales lock Al Kanaar.

The fine was issued by the ARU's independent review committee, which found Rugby WA had breached official contracting protocols in its attempt to sign Kanaar to the Western Force.

Rugby WA conducts all contract negotiations on behalf of the Perth-based franchise.

The committee's investigation was launched following a formal complaint lodged to the ARU by the New South Wales Rugby Union.

Rugby WA said it would consider appealing the fine.
