Season 2011 will be interesting with the extra 'derby' games - it'd be silly to put anything into action before seeing what happens with that
I say Give us a rectangular stadium that can host 50000 people.

In the next 10 years WA population will increase with at least 1 million. If 5 persent of those people are rugby supporters( very likely because most imports will be from South Africa and Britain) that gives you 50000 rugby supporters !!!!!!!!!! if 20000 becomes fans or members and we have 20000 fans at the moment then we have a almost full house every home game the Force play

    Population calculated using stats below

I'm with you coach; I've got no issues what-so-ever with a multipurpose stadium:
In my vision the multipurposes can be for rugby (both kinds- [country and western]) and soccer ....

the only problem with a multi is that Some middle man will be getting a cut of the stadium revenue !!

I think your numbers need a little work. It took about 25 years to get the last million and based on that graph, the rate is reasonably constant, so in 10 years we may have another 400,000.

I'm all for a new stadium and even a MPS if used correctly, but I don't want to sit in a half empty stadium.

But you also have to take in account the birth rate and in Aus you are looking at
    the following:

one birth every 1 minute and 46 seconds,
one death every 3 minutes and 42 seconds,
a net gain of one international migrant every 1 minute and 46 seconds leading to
an overall total population increase of one person every 1 minute and 10 seconds.

Surely given that graph graphs the actual population, it would include birth rates and migrants? otherwise what does it measure...

Whatever it is eventually, it has to be steep. Nothing like a nice steep stadium for
    1) watching the show
    2) intimidating the opposition

particularly with the noise that Western Force fans can generate!

and it was all calculated before the Henry Tax Review which will kill net migration and mining/gas monies being spent and generated in WA

One estimate: another 300 000 people across whole of WA by 2015.

OK maybe I am bad with mahs LOL but I managed to get this searching a bit

Perth is projected to experience the highest percentage growth (116%) of Australia's capital cities, increasing from 1.6 million people at 30 June 2007 to 3.4 million in 2056.

Don't point that out. Knowing how the State Government works they will say we are right for 40 years

    We don't need a bloody multi-purpose stadium!!

We only need a rectangular stadium!! Rectangular codes are going to be the dominant codes in Perth in the not too distant future, not bloody gAyFL!!!

An upgraded Subiaco Oval for gAyFL and an upgrade ME Stadium for the real football codes! No brainer really!! Has been my arguement all long!

This has to be under the table crap, someone is making money out of it for sure, with all this "everything new" garbage! Waste of bloody money for the community, but someone will get nice nd rich for it!

    Ok that is my rant!

Now on to this news item "New Sydney stadium to bolster Cup bid"

    http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2...rt&section=all

WTF!!! Where is Perth mentioned? Oh that is right bloody no where at all!!

Come on FFA there is a pretty good football (soccer) team here that would like a new stadium. Along with the other rectangular codes wanting the exact same thing!! Who has dropped the ball here? FFA of the Perth Glory? I know the State Government obviously has!!

Come on guys and Gals you remember when you was young grandpa would sit you on his knee and tell you stories how the banks are robbers and its best if you put your money under a matress well I have worked it all out The Nullabour is the matress and WA is the money stash and Kevin 07 has found it and is robbing grandpa blind. so soon Big Kevin will only have a futon to sleep on as everything under the matress will be gone

There wont be sod turn for at least 4 years... if we get the world cop soccer this will fastrac the construction but thats happening in 2022.... maybe Rudd and Barnett could introduce "watching rugby tax" on all rugby players or tax Foxtel for television rates........ I am happy at MES as long as they dont put the cost up too much
