He was going to play for the Queensland Reds under the developmental player thingy but he wanted to play in the ANZC which isn't allowed (thus James Parsons didn't come to the Force). Therefore he might be keen to play as our marquee which would mean he could go back for the ANZC or maybe his priorities will have changed since then.
GIGS, Hunt is only 20 next year whereas Hobbs, for example, is 24. The message that would send him is: We aren't rushing you. Here is a guy a bit more senior and he will take on most of the pressure and allow you time to develop. You'll be playing off the bench mostly this year with the view to being a starter in 2012. If Hunt was even close to being ready he'd be getting game time off the bench now.
Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.
I deliberately left out guys like nick evans, james hook, toby flood etc etc because realistically they wouldnt give up the $$$$ or a spot on their rwc squad to play in perth, and a guy like evans would go back home as he would be a walk in selection for the allblacks.
i doudt we will get a young kiwi over here.... they have nee b brain washed to only play in NZ...... even Carter going for a season had people in up roar let alonbe lose a promising yoing gun.... Nick Evan or James Brook but we will have to raisd the piggy bank... unless Vern can do a storm deal!
Another interesting option for the solid senior player stakes (though have never seen him play) is Paul Warwick.

"Irish Switch" controversy
On 27 January 2009, he reportedly signed a three year deal with Guinness Premiership club London Irish, starting at the start of the 2009/10 season. However there was speculation as to whether he will be joining the Irish Exiles or remaining with Munster for the start of next season, as an apparent Tug-of-War has begun between the two sides looking to secure his services.
On 9 April 2009 Munster and London Irish announced that the issue over Paul Warwick has been resolved to the satisfaction of all parties and that Warwick would be remaining next season at Munster.
"Bloody oath we did!"
Nathan Sharpe, Legend.
I just watched Sharpies post match interview again.
He said they did it for themselves and the crowd.
Nothing about doing it for other teams.
I was just about to quote that part or the article and say that TG
