With the breakdown and highlander counterrucking, to me it looked like early the strategy was to not commit too many players into the breakdown, a strategy that the classic crusaders team was very successful at, and i guess with our allstar back 3 and mobile front row, it was something worth trying i guess. They sorted themselves out eventually.
The other worrying factor was how many points the highlanders scored after a kickoff.

Apart from that it was a great team effort i reckon. Welcome back shepherd!

My MOM goes to either JOC, Hill or Bam Bam......caant really decide between the 3.

This was a game well worth recording and watching after a hard day laying blocks - the beer tastes so much better, especially with a win!! While watching, I always felt we were going to win it with our calm, no panic approach, even with all the turn overs in the 1st half. Our line out and scrum were solid and I think Mitch's tactic of running straight at their defence was eventually going to pay dividends so kudos to strategy against the Highlanders. Well done guys - bring on The Blues!

I agree with Gigs about Cross.

We still need two blistering big centres who can break defensive lines on their own not be offloaded to by forwards who have done all the work like Bam.

I liked the way we went forward with the replacement half back.

But it was nice to have an away win especially with the bonus point.

Maybe. But the TMO did look at Whittaker's no try about 50 times to find a reason not to give it. So he must have got that one right.

A negative post from me, I was busy judging at a gymkhana in town, which involved a very popular senior local rider falling and probably finding out today if it is going to be fatal or not (odds aren't very good at all...), and only got the match result at 11pm last night (thanks Happy ) and now going to have to be up by 6am to get over to the mine in time to watch the replay as it is the only half respectable replay time slot all week...
GO THE FORCE!!!
