Matt Toomua will remain with Brumbies pending contract top-up from ARU

WALLABIES tourist Matt Toomua will recommit to the Brumbies if he comes to terms with the ARU for a top-up to his Super 14 contract.

Toomua's preference is to stay in Canberra, thus rejecting offers from the Melbourne Rebels and Western Force, but he is also considering an offer from a French club. He has been starting at five-eighth following the season-ending injury to inside back Christian Lealiifano, making his decision to stay easier.
Toomua, 20, will wear the No 10 jumper against the Cheetahs in Canberra on Saturday night, but the three-quarter line is still undecided with coach Andy Friend seeking replacements for outside centre Stirling Mortlock (back) and winger Frank Fainifo (leg).
Julian Huxley is almost certain to start at fullback after making a successful comeback off the bench in the Brumbies' win against the Chiefs in Canberra two weeks ago.

Did he just say that, if the ARU play it right, they might be able to push him towards a contract with Melbourne to help shore them up?

Surely that would never happen. They are only supposed to push players towards the Brumbies and the Tahs.
