Awesome victory! We finally scored a well constructed team try.

Inman had a cracker of a game. He seems to be improving each week. Crossy was flat and took every ball stationary. No wonder he can't break the line like he used to - stand deeper damnit! I think Hill was serviceable and also seems to be on the improve.

Forwards were awesome. Great to have the three amigos back! I think Whittaker should be our first choice hooker from here on in (leave Pek as prop).

Just a note for everyone to keep an eye on...before the game when they spray the flames from the machines look at them carefully. The flames don't always work and there are some sprays of liquid (kero?) that spray onto the ground (and occassionally on some fox sports guys). The area that this occurs on looks very slippery and this is exactly where Habana stuffed up and lost the ball. It is very amusing how often it occurs there.

Wouldn't the kero kill the grass?

If you sprayed it directly onto the grass, yes, probably.
    [Putting my engineer's cap on...]
The flame machine is spraying the fuel into the air and the ignition isn't working properly. This results in the fuel falling as a fine mist onto the ground. Not enough to kill it, but easily enough to make it slippery. Maybe there's some home-field advantage to be had here?

BTW, it seemed to be working a bit better last Friday, but still not perfectly.

That's a lot of caps, Sheikh (am assuming you have your WF cap on at the same time!)

I don't know if it's a homeground advantage, as it might not be the first thing on a player's mind when he looks where to go next. If the kero is affecting the turf, that sounds like a problem to me.

They fairly crank out the heat too, can certainly feel them from the front row.

That's true, but they can't do that here. They make me feel nice and toasty when sitting between the 5M and 15M lines, I can't imagine what they'd do placed on the side of the pitch!

Maybe the operators could wheel them out every time we score, but that just wouldn't work!

If they did, they didn't have them on the pitch during the game - highly dangerous - some concussed prop might have tackled them!

I've also noticed that when we score at MES fireworks go off behind the Shed. The guy who sets them off is always a bit late, but last week he must have been expecting another match of us kicking all our points, because I can't remember them going off at all!

If the Stormers, Brumbies and Crusaders only win one more game this season, Reds, Chiefs & Blues only win 2 more games, Hurricanes & Sharks only 3 more games and the Force win 5 of their last 6 games we will make the Semi's

    I still have Faith!!

more realistically we should be aiming for at least 3 more wins i think!

    Lions, Highlanders and Cheetahs.
Blues, Saders and Sharks will be bonuses but still doable if we continue to improve.. We've done very well in recent weeks against 3 of the top 4 teams so there is no reason why we cant still get a better result this year than we did last year!

Is it time for the "mathematical chance" book already?

    Sin Bin,
I agree with the comments you made. They were unbias and reflected the reality of how the game was played.
I agree that O'Young, Inman and Bart should be singled out for a mention for the part they played in this victory. Quite often players who work hard to help a team win but doesn't make visible breaks or carry out spectacular crush tackles are not noticed by a majority of the supporters.
