    EWF Tour to NZ

Is anyone else planning to head over the ditch to watch the games in Queenstown and then following weekend in Auckland? I'm heading over with wife and mother-in-law and will be spending the week in the middle visiting pinoit country but would like to meet up with Force fans for the games.

Do you know the lay of the land in Queenstown? Is there a good bar to meet before/after the game?

Sounds like there are a few headed over and here are my tips from being there in 2008.

Captain Run will take place 2pm - 3pm on Friday I suggest you all just meet out at the ground then and set a spot to meet the next day in the ground. Half way line opposite grandstand was good for us.

Game Day - buses leave from Queenstown to take you out to the ground (next to airport, about 10 minutes drive)

Drinks - If you don't like Speights, take some lime juice in a water bottle with a squezzy lids so you kill some of the taste it leaves in your mouth (btw 18 cans for a match is my personal record!)

Post Match - There is a bar just at the entry of the ground on the roundabout called Kelly's where everyone seems to go to wait for buses back to town.

Post Match - Last time Cisco's Bar in Queenstown was the venue for both teams to meet for drinks but a few did venture off to nightclubs etc.

Hotel - The team stays at The Crowne Plaza.

Flights - Team will fly on Wednesday Air NZ and arrive via Auckland in Queenstown around 11am on Thursday.

Essential - A trip to Arrowtown for a few drinks. The Tap is a great bar!

Is Mark de Cruz still coming onto this site? He mentioned in Brisbane that he comes here occassionally - apparently we get the gossip before he does!

If he, or anyone else on the playing or coaching staff reads this, can they keep an eye out for the tourers at the Captain's Run?

It made our tour (well the game didn't) and I'm sure the players appreciate the support.

Queenstown Oval is very open, no big gates or stands, just walk up and you will be welcome
