For me:
Henderson
Whittaker
Fairbrother
Hocking
Sharpe
McCalman
Hodgson
Wykes
Sheehan
Hill
Cummins
Staniforth
Inman
Haylett-Petty
OConnor
Tyrell
Cowen (as a prop)
Jones
Stanford
OYoung
Hunt
Cross
Id persevere with Haylett-Petty, but on the wing where he cant do as much damage. He has a bit of talent, but is still very green. There was a discussion over at G&GR about the need for the ARC to develop guys like DHP. He has talent but is not yet ready for the S14s, yet gets thrown in the deep end and fails. Same thing happened to the Faaingas, Betham, even Genia.
Cross doesnt add much these days. He didnt do much on the weekend other than fall of tackles. Bench him.
Wykes seems to be playibng better as a flanker than as a lock, so stick him in at 8. He has excellent handling skills so that should suit him.
Spanner doesnt have the pace at the moment to be a decent wing, and he made the Wallabies recently as a centre. It is where he plays best. He breaks the line regularly and would be a handful for the opposition centres.
Keep OConnor as fullback. He can come into the 10 position for attacks, but in defence Hill is the best option there.
Cummins needs to find form. But given he has been out for 6 months it is understandable. He will come good soon.
The front row wasnt really a problem if you ignore the line out throwing. Henderson has found a new life leaving the Brumbies.
The hooking Cowen experiment is not really working. Id like to see Whittaker trialled as hooker, with Tyrell offering backup. Cowen was an excellent loosehead prop last year, lets get him back there.
McCalman and Hodgson have been consistently two of the best players on the field in every Force game this season.
What needs to be worked on this week is chasing kicks, supporting the ball runner and committing to the breakdown.
The Tahs have until this weekend just gone looked very disjointed in attack. Lets make the most of it.
Id like to see a bounce back to form and put the Tahs back in their place, and silence the critics from this week.
There is still quite a bit of talent in that run on side for the Force.
did anyone else think it was a 3 card game??
C'mon the
i agree with the former gigs.
but as my boss says: if you cant change the people, change the people
