Particular impressions from the night then:
    The game
    - All up pretty good
    - Pack looked very composed
    - Bart did well
    - As two fullbacks, Rabbit and Shep could make for an interesting combination running off each other
    - Pek needs plenty of practice (naturally)
    - Sheehan needs to stop box kicking so damn deep
    - CO'Y needs to sharpen up
    - Stanford seems to have got well big. I don't know what the plan is, but he looks like he could be a very useful 6 in the Elsom mould were he to focus on it
    - As elsewhere, the crowd was a bit disappointing. Given that the various other trials were also derbies, and given the comparison to last year, you'd have to hope they aren't barking up completely the wrong tree in the way they are planning to expanding the competition...

    The stadium
    - The lights, whilst now much brighter, seem low and routinely got in the eyes when the ball was lifted. It will be interesting to see if it creates a problem for the cameras
    - The surface looked superb
    - I was surprised that they still hadn't installed the screens. Luckily installing electronics is always easy, hey?
    - On the whole, we'll see how the place bears up next week.

Seems peculiar that a brothel is allowed to operate but a temporary beer tent is not.
Maybe RWA should have applied for a brothel license.... and just sold refreshments as a side line.

I just assumed that the main replay screen would be the portable one used at the Perth Glory games

Was told by Rugby WA "unnamed sauce" that the pylons next to shed and next to the new elevated corp room on west side of ground are the 2 screens.

Must be like those hi-tech see-through screens you see on tv shows!!! Does this mean that someone will be touch screening the results up??

OK,first impressions of full game. The lights remain substandard, still too dim. From all levels and areas of E stand, the big screen next to the shed is partly obstructed by the shed roof, the other 'big' screen is a joke. My TV is bigger, and, it is not angled properly so E stand viewers see it almost side on, rather than full. It needs to be bigger, much bigger, and angled diagonally across the ground. It is ironic that those with the best views of the ground from the Western Stands, also have the best, and in some cases, ONLY view of the decent big screen.

Food and drink outlets much improved from the Glory games. A lot of effort and resources have been put into this, I was impressed. But still nowhere to sit and of course only slop to drink. But service very good.

Seat in EEE. OK, in terms of central location, excellent, almost on the halfway line with panaramic views of the ground. But it is even further back than the rear of the Grandstand and the players just too far away to see their faces unless right on our sideline. No feeling of intimacy. A lot of empty seats around the ground.

Being a balmy night it was warm, but on a cold night with a westerly howling in it is going to be very, very cold. This from experience in the lower levels of E stands.

At the end of the day, Force have made the best of a poor facility. They are hamstrung by State and local gvt. Seems ironic that in the locality there are at least 3 brothels (daughter was quite amused) but no tent facilites etc. for after game relaxation are permitted. This state sure knows how to kill the golden goose. Little wonder we lose all high profile events to eastern states.

Great critique Ediie, I only disagree on the lights question. I was happy with them.

I wasn't ultraimpressed with the lights. Could have been brighter (especially since it would have helped the assistant refs), but I could see to the diagonally opposite corner so they will have to do.
