Forget Brock James. Clermont have stitched him up for three years (IIRR this is the first season of the three).

I watch a lot of the Top14 and HC, and last season he was the best flyhalf in the Top 14. On form he would have been picked to play for France against Oz on the 2008 EOYT if he had been eligible, but he is locked into Oz.

Geez - if we had him at Murrayfield last month we would have won that game.

I don't think anybody picked how good he was going to be in Euro rugby when he left our shores.

Dan Parks was the same. "Compass" (he played Sydney rugby for Wests, Souths and Easts) couldn't get a gig with the Tahs but he ended up playing a heap of games for Scotland.

Another good player who the Force should look at is Paul Warwick of Munster. He has also blossomed in Euro rugby and plays flyhalf when ROG isn't available, and meantime plays fullback. I have no idea what his contract situation is though.

My problem with Gits was that he seemed to not trust the rest of the back-line anymore. This lead him to trying to do it all himself (both for the Force and the Wallabies).

Maybe the change of scenery is just what he needs to regain his mojo, just hopefully after the first game of the season.

IMHO, Pretorius is a total waste, if the Super 14 sides in Safferland don't even want him as a reserve....
On the other hand if that's what it takes to keep JoC, I'm happy with that.

WTF! FFLAs are way under-rated, IMHO.

    .
i was excited when brock james was listed for the force. the kiwis were scratching their heads on why he never played for the wallabies. he kicked arse over there for taranaki. the problem i felt was at the time the force pack was struggling at set plays and at the breakdown. add to poor service from henjack meant he was often under a lot of pressure and perceived to be inneffective. even gits struggled when he first arrived.

    Gits ran sideways all day
He confused his team mates by changing the call mid play with his brain explosions
His cross field kicks were sh1t
His heart and mind were somewhere else
    Good riddance

Gits took his ball and went home to mummy
I hope the door didn't hit him in the arse on the way out
We need a champion team not a team of underperforming whinging "champions"
    Mitchells broom has been effective
    The recruitment has been useful.
    Bring on 2010

Lets not kid ourselves, Giteau was the best flyhalf in the super 14 last season. Watch the Force vs Crusaders game last year. He single handedly kept the Force in the game. He is dangerous with the ball in hand, can kick, but is prone to brain farts at international level.

Pretorius is a great player, and will make a decent replacement to Giteau but he just isnt in the same class.
