San Siro sell-out for All Blacks

Italy seems to be salivating at the prospect of facing the All Blacks on November 14, with the San Siro confirmed as being sold out.

The game is still a month away but already the New Zealand rugby union team has captured the imagination of the Italian rugby-loving public.

Milan's soccer stadium plays host to the fixture and it means the match will attract the second largest ever attendance in the venue for a non-football sporting event.

Not since boxer Duilio Loi fought Puerto Rico's Carlos Ortiz for the super-lightweight world title in 1960 have so many people packed out Milan's historic stadium for something other than a soccer match.

Would be nice to have the AB's play in your own city...

Should be a superb atmosphere. I caught a low-profile game (Juv-Siena?) there once and even 60% full the stadium was rocking.

Headlines here might have it that Rugby is boring but seems to be holding strong in other parts. Ah, the apathetic Aussie..

The Azzuri will do better at home - it might only be 50 they lose by!

And they still get remarkably big crowds - a few teams closer to home could learn from that!
