And all amusing, apart of course for how that then gets reported elsewhere:

Wallabies resort to violence ... again

The Wallabies' newfound penchant for onfield violence came to the fore again at training on Thursday, as the Australians continued their preparation for the next instalment in their Tri-Nations and Bledisloe Cup campaign.

Not for the first time this year tensions boiled over at a Wallaby training session - when teenage sensation James O'Connor and veteran Phil Waugh got involved in a stand-off.

The incident continues the recent trend of training ground stoushes, which began with good mates Stephen Moore and Ben Alexander trading blows at Brookvale Oval last month.

It may also explain why star flyhalf Matt Giteau saw the need for a blatant attack on Springbok scrumhalf Fourie du Preez - when he charged head-high, elbow first into the Bok No.9 - in last Saturday's 17-29 loss in Cape Town.

While the Aussies were tryinmg to play down the incident on Thursday as "over enthusiastic" training, there is a clear trend and it may be related to the frustrations they are feeling after losing their opening matches in this year's Tri-Nations campaign.

O'Connor may also, inadvertently, have let the cat out the back with his remark that: "...we're training how we want to play."

    And so on..., finishing with:

It appears the message, from last week's loss in Cape Town, did not get through to the Wallabies.

Despite conceding a string of penalties and three yellow cards - one of those to Giteau for his blatant assault on the Bok scrumhalf - Wallaby coach Robbie Deans seemed okay with the fact that his team will resort to violence to get the better of the opposition.

Even though he lamented his team's poor discipline in Cape Town, he had no issues with the Waugh-O'Connor clash.

"The fact it's a bit testy at training's not a bad thing, because it'll be no holds barred come game time," he said.

Joc might be quicker but waugh would take it and pound him in the end, might not be so good for his poster boy income!

Waugh was merely demonstrating to O'Connor, with the symbolic use of his clenched fist, that by not signing with the Force he may be left clutching a fist full of flies.

I heard Phil Waugh clenched his fist and his face started bleeding.
