Depends on how much of MES get torn down to be re-built. When MES as it stands now was first constructed, the Glory played 2 home games at Arena Joondalup then the next 13 weeks were away games

since the glory play there and the WA reds rugby league team have some games there, it would have to be. anyway, they can always stop work for a few hours eahc time, if said work risks injuring players, spectators or the pitch or other buildings.

the crew would probably be given the option of taking an RDO on game days if they were working in the first place.
or instead of using their R&R they would have the day off and just be paid their 8 hours.

i'd be willing to bet that's what would happen anyways, the edges of the scaffolding would be covered in high-vis clad workmen

I don't know many construction workers that would hang around untill 7pm (at the earliest) on a Friday night, or even be at work on a saturday or sunday

The construction business is bid on very small profit margins around 5%, they make higher profits on extras and over rides. An upgrade bid at $73 million could have a COST of 69 or 70. If he does it at time and material it would probably end up higher. So is his offer really that big of a cost savings? I'd guess it is not. But if him making the offer helps make things happen it's a priceless offer.

Thats a bit more realistic... then its what the materials get purchased and billed for...

    true.
but just to clarify, saturdays and sundays are overtime, weekends can add over a grand to the weekly wage, not to mention the extra 20 hours of site allowance you get as well. which is between $5 and $9 an hour for every hour on site. it all adds up

Fantastic!! Once a rugby boy, always a rugby boy. He surely knows how much it means to WA to have a rugby team competing in the Super 14 and it sounds as if he has the right intentions behind funding it. Go forth and build Mr Buckeridge!!

WAFC to support upgrade of Subiaco Oval

The WA Football Commission says it will work with the Government to secure an upgrade of Subiaco Oval.

The comments come as a new report, commissioned by Rugby WA, was released yesterday recommending an increase in the capacity of Perth Oval from 18,000 to 25,000 seats, as well as improving the facilities.

The Chief Executive of the Commission, Wayne Bradshaw says the different football codes have different needs but plans for a multi-purpose stadium have been shelved for the time being.

Mr Bradshaw says the Commission is now focussing on developing Subiaco Oval.

"We understand there's limited resources and we'd be keen to work with the Government to apply those resources in the best manner, relative to what they can afford, so that sports, and football in particular can go ahead in this state," he said.
