This is good news for developing players at the Force. DHP and Nic Cummins will definitely get more game time and experience which in the end will be better for Australian rugby.

Good luck Drew you have played on the whole very well for us just please don’t take a leaf out of Lote's book and start wearing fluoro boots!

Actually, I can see Sheps back to 15, with Cummins on one wing and Sare on the other?

Think the Force will go out and look for a new 14/15 as well. I suggest giving Dan Carter a call and see if he's interested! He mentioned before he loved Perth and used to come over frequently for a holiday

No surprise here I guess, he was never going to choose to stay at the Force. Ah well, at least now we have more leverage to keep J'OC, etc.

Drew did well for us while he was here - I guess Josh Valentine is going to have to move in with Shep now!

I was thinking that the main criterion for those choosing where to play would be their regular selection in the position they'd like to play when selected for duties.

I was also thinking that some guidance by their mentors/agents/peers would assist in the decision-making process.

It must be just me that can see that Drew would be better served in these endeavours by staying at the . Maybe he is feeling the pressure of Shep, Cummo, Haig, Spanner, amongst others, and maybe he can see the potential of JO'C and DHP and needs to get out and try to shine for a lesser-credentialled outfit.

Shame to see him go but we do have plenty of cover. Good luck Drew.

(Like I have said about Gits: I hope he plays really, really well for his new team. I just hope they lose!)

All the best, Drew! Am hoping your remaining games in proper blue are ones to remember (for all the right reasons ) That baby blue is going to do nothing for your complexion

notice his announcement comes just after the game against the tahs? im not sure if he did the right thing, waiting till after he played them, or before, like gits. i suppose it all depends on when he made his mind up.

hell he may have enjoyed just seeing all his family again whilst he was over there!

    His family live in Brisbane.
Either way we beat the Tahs, he's finally made the announcement and now we can all move on to the Lions game and building a team for 2010.

Good luck Drew, I think you're going to need it. I really hope the Tahs have good coaches for Defence and Kicking, because you sorely need it.

One question, if they're hiding Beale at fullback, where will they hide Drew in defence?

Possible to beat them?!?!? It's more than possible. Ignoring the fact that they are already fairly average already, they've lost a fair few key players, they are at the end of a 4 week tour and we are in form. If the Force didn't have the habit of dropping the intensity for games like this I would wager on putting 30 points of them at least.

Nothing on ABC, thewest, news.google.com.au or rugbyheaven websites. foxsports and news (via the australian) has "while negotiations with Western Force outside back Drew Mitchell are continuing. "
