    Perth Bayswater 3rd Grade

A happy day for third grade to have won the first game of the season home ground 12-5

Even involved a try pushed through by a scrum

Looking forward to a great season
BTW only team from PBRUFC to have won on the day

my son played for the opposition in that game
both sides threw the ball around, which made for a great spectacle
skill errors were to the fore--not unusual for this time of the season,& of course the first time these players have played under the ELVS laws

BDG it was just good to see PBRUFC 3rd Grade win a game early in the season as last year they only won one game the whole season. Full credit to Nedlands they never gave up

As far as i can gather it was a thrashing by Kalamunda over Basie 3rd Grade Black. Unfortunatley i was unable to attend the game and took it out on myself by walking home from Leedeville Train Station to Dianella as i missed the train stop at Stirling. Had the dog box once imade it home as my dog was in my side of the bed byt he time o got home. Hope the Baysie team isn't too sore after that game as Kala looked to be a pretty big team from what i remember from the preseason game. Well done Kalamunda 85-10 whew!!

Dave it was a shocker, they were even bigger than in the pre season game LOL

Baysies gave it all and never dropped their heads but Kala just overpowered us we had 2 guys that had to go for stitches and another 2 blood bins of which one could not go back onto the field on top of that. I ended up going on after half time and only lasted for about 10 minutes before I got smashed from the side and hurt my knee, I am struggling to walk this morning but hopefully will be OK by Tuesday. It will be interesting to see who will be able to train on Tuesday.

At least the Prems won convincingly so that made for a good end to the day

yip you heard right and for those who the name is unfamiliar

Berryman arrived from Northland with a reputation for the unexpected, but developed to his full potential while in the care of the Crusaders. Not only did the big Maori winger prove popular with the fans, he provided the side with an x-factor that helped win matches, which is witnessed by the important role he played in the Crusaders’ first ever title success, where Berryman appeared in all 13 matches. The well travelled New Zealand Maori representative scored a brace of tries on three consecutive weekends, against the Cats in South Africa and then against the Sharks home and away, to help bludgeon the Crusaders into the 1998 final. He then helped spark the Super 12’s most incredible revival, supplying two of the tries and generally running amok as the Crusaders over-turned a 6-30 deficit to overpower the Cats during a remarkable afternoon in Nelson during the 1999 competition.

I don't understand why is in 3rd Grade Black then, surely he could at least be 3rdGrade Gold?

I heard last night that he still plays touch in the of season and is still very fit. By the look of his performance on Sunday he will still be able to run on in a premier game so I cannot understnd what he is doing playing 3rds while Kala prems is struggling they way they are

    2/5/2009 3pm 3rd Grade Black
    Joondalup 31 v Perth Bayswater 17

Nice hard game Perth should have done better but still have new players coming through so the team is a bit unsettled. Bit dissapointed about the hospitality of Joondalup but apparently the bar is a Council run one not a club one so no presentations. Joondalup 3rd Grade gold played an away game and maybe that had something to do with it.

Looking forward to locking horns with Wanneroo next week.
