    Spanner to Japan???

"Force fans can expect significant player movement at the end of the season. Veterans Scott Staniforth and Tai McIsaac are likely to go, possibly to Japan, and others will be assessed in the second half of the season."

    http://www.thewest.com.au/default.as...ntentID=131776

Say it isn't so!! Given that we're potentially losing heaps of talent prior to next year why aren't we looking to keep spanner. Surely we should be looking to next year with a possible combination of

    10. O'connor
    12. Staniforth

Hell - I'd settle for that for the rest of this year come to think about it....

Yeh blood oath......... they must stop all this trading mid season stuff how acn u build momentum with all this going on. Spanner is a key to our rebuilding process he will get a lot of run on time next season with Mitchell, Gits and JOC gone

I've heard similar stories, re: Spanner, from multiple 'sauces' - Off to Japan is the gossip. He's got brothers playing in France at the moment (against each other!) and a move to Japan for one or both of them is always a possibility too...

But until pen hits paper, it's just gossip (however likely) - I guess the right contract and conditions *could* see him stay in WA?

Lets hope to see more of him this year... If he goes I wish him all the best and I hope he gets a good contract, he's very unlikely to make the Wallabies... he's been a great player at club and international level.. he should be rewarded with a good juicy French contract...

Maybe its time for some crowd support as far as who should and shouldn't be re-signed.

I feel the need for a Spanner Banner or 10.

After all - we cant loose our 2006 TWF Player of the year.

I think Spanner is actually contracted till 2010, so if he were to leave it would seem it would be his decision (assuming a release is given) ...

Yeah I thought the same Coach. Perhaps the Force consider him an injury risk and would release him to free up some cash (he is probably quite expensive). It'd be a real shame to see him go but I don't think he'd feature in Robbie's 2011 plans so you can't blame him for wanting to give Japan a go.

More recognition of his abilities (by EWF/RWA) and more consistant inclusion on the team (at 12) and I reckon we'd have a better chance of keeping him and if he isn't planning on leaving then our team will still benefit by his presence on the field. win-win.

Be nice if they can keep the players that actually want to be here in WA, it would really help build some stability in the team and maybe rejunivate the fellowship & leadership amoungst the group. Hopefully most of the trouble makers will have left at the end of the season allowing for stability to return. Here's hoping......

Didn't he turn down big money in Japan before he signed is last contract. I think he would rather stay in Oz. was speaking to Scott Daruda at the Ladies thingy on Sat. He said he didn't know what he was doing next season but he would be looking at his options depending on what happens here. If they bring in an overseas 10 then I reckon he will go He should be given a chance

...What should I write on my Spanner-sign? I want it ready for the next game, so I'm going to start it tonight!

I need something clever, and I clearly have nothing Any ideas?
