Show your outrage at so many assaults going unpunished and support Matt Butcher and his family. On Tuesday, legislation to implement mandatory sentences for assaults on police will be before State Parliament. This is just days after the "not guilty" verdict over the assault of Const Matthew BUTCHER which has outraged the West Australian community.

The public and all available police officers need to be at Parliament House on Tuesday to send a message to our MP's that anything less than mandatory jail for assaults on police is unacceptable.

Since Thursday there has been a massive outpouring of community support for Matthew BUTCHER and the State's Police. Support is now needed from all sides of politics.

We want mandatory sentencing and we want it now.

wow, I would have expected better from you we know where you stand on this but this is for the others who actually care about the protection of the community and the law enforcement officers who protect it. They have rights too...

It has been said several times in recent weeks, if you don't like a post don't respond to it! It's getting very tedious reading posts that serve no contributive purpose to the thread at hand. I'm all for a debate about issues rugby or general, but when it gets to people just saying your an idiot move on that is annoying...

Great post Blackswan, I'll be there for sure! Hope other who support this "force" will also attend. It will also be a good oppurtunity to thank those who are putting their lives at risk for us!

where did I call anyone an idiot?
where did I say I didnt care about the protection of the community or police?
just because Im against the mandatory prison term for assault against ANYBODY,doent mean I dont care
what pisses me off is unneccessary hysteria whipped up by the media in the main
mandatory jail will open up a can of worms
It also irrelevent to the Mcleod case as(perhaps suprisingly) they were acquitted
