    A real knockout competition.

It truly is religion over there. Not bad for a country of only 3 million half of which I think are muslim now. Although its had a few name changes over the years there is a knockout competition that all these teams except the 4 Magners league teams compete in every year. Gives the amatuer teams a chance to compete against the professionals/semi professionals each year for a chance of a fairytale win.

I asked Vicki Pollard about this and she said "Yeah but no but yeah but no but yeah, they've never won the six nations but".

What about the RWC comment Vicki?

"Yeah but no but yeah but no, Oh my god you are well out of order"

I have a question. How can you tell if someone is drunk or not when writing in Welsh?

Daffyd will be pissed off. With Waratahs players in the Wallabies squad he definitely won't be the only gay in the village.

Welsh people are usually drunk, it helps when we get knocked out in the qualifying stages at the RWC.

How drunk depends on the name of the town and rugby team that goes with it.

I didn't notice this town in the above list has a team,

Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwyll-llantysiliogogogoch. This is the name of a town in North Wales.

    I kid you not, http://www.llanfairpwllgwyngyllgoger...ogogogoch.com/.

Mmmm I remember reading about a dispute between that town and a town in New Zealand. How do you pronounce it?

I wonder why English became the British Isle's and subsequently the worlds language of choice rather than Gaelic?

YEAH! There is! I went there in January. And if you put a penny in the machine at the breakfast place then it smushes it and prints the name around the edges at it over laps twice. It's really funny when you drive past the shops, because the brand name is squashed in the corner and the town name takes up all of the sign!

A kick in this game is like a rather nasty alcoholic shooter, only as good as it's chaser...

    From: http://wikitravel.org/en/Llanfairpwl...ysiliogogogoch

Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysilio gogogoch (lan-vire-pool-guin-gith-go-ger-u-queern-drob-ooth-clandus-ilio-gogo-goch) is a Welsh word which translates roughly as "St Mary's Church in the Hollow of the White Hazel near a Rapid Whirlpool and the Church of St. Tysilio near the Red Cave".

The name was coined as a publicity gimmick in the 1860s by concatenating the names of Llanfairpwllgwyngyll ("St Mary's church in the hollow of the white hazel"), the nearby hamlet of Llantysilio Gogogoch ("the church of St Tysilio of the red cave"), and the chwyrn drobwll ("rapid whirlpool") between them.

It was the longest place name in an English-speaking country, but it has been challenged by Llanfynydd (which unofficially changed its name to something longer) and a train stop elsewhere in Wales, but neither of these has received official recognition.

A hill in New Zealand has the 85-character name (derived from Maori) of Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateapokaiwhenuakit anatahu.

Locals refer to the village as Llanfair, or as Llanfair PG (pronounced roughly "Hlan-var Pee Gee") to distinguish it from other places in Wales called "Llanfair(something)".

Although typed as 58 characters, it is technically only 50 letters, because in Welsh ll ng and ch are treated as single letters.

Gaelic and the Welsh/Irish were the original inhabitants and language of the British Isles, the AngloSaxons (German & Danish tribes) invaded after the Romans left and bought the language which became English with them.
