WESTERN Force coach John Mitchell has made five changes to his side that was beaten in the opening round of Super 14 last week.

The team picked to face the South African Cheaters at Subiaco on Friday contains new prop Ben Castle who takes over from Pek Cowan.

On the other side of the scrum, Gareth Hardy replaces the injured AJ Whalley.

Other changes include Josh Valentine who gets his first Super 14 run for the Force at halfback and will replace Chris O'Young.

And teenage sensation James O'Connor comes in for Josh Tatupu while Nick Cummins replaces Haig Sare.

Onto the bench comes Rockingham prop Kieran Longbottom and the long awaited return of experienced back Scott Staniforth.
