    Poor bastard.

    I'm suprised he didn't last year, but It'd have to be one of the hardest decisions to make considering he's still young and his body is fit enough. I'd try to avoid making a retirement announcment until the bitter end too.

    I'm just glad he didn't leave it until he suffered some kind of brain damage, that would have been horrible.

    Well done to Flats, regardless of enough injuries for four men, he still managed to have an excellent State and International career.
    If fate had been kinder to him he may well have been one of the greats of our game.
    Thanks to him for some great memories and at least to some extent it was his own choice.
    Many careers have ended on a stretcher.
