    Sharpe called to South Africa

SACKED Australia lock Nathan Sharpe has been given a reprieve and summoned to South Africa after the Wallabies ran into injury and judiciary problems following their win over the Springboks.
Western Force captain Sharpe was the notable ommission from the touring squad, but a shoulder injury to lineout chief Dan Vickerman and a suspension cloud hanging over flanker Rocky Elsom have resulted in coach Robbie Deans sending the SOS.http://www.foxsports.com.au/story/0,...-23217,00.html

“Let me put it this way, A Springbok team contains Afrikaners, Englishmen, coloureds and blacks. It has parochial foes in Bulls, Sharks, Stormers, Cheetahs and Lions. It is a recipe for war! Yet in all the years of John Smit’s captaincy, there has never been one unhappy customer, not one voice of rebellion against his leadership. He is the glue that holds the Springboks together. The man is a legend!”- Jake White

I can imagine it would sting one's pride a little to feel like second best and just get the opportunity when their first choice players are unavailable.

But the best way to deal with that is to play your heart out and make the selectors kick themselves for not picking you in the first place.

Sock it to 'em Sharpie! Do us proud!

    Hardly!
Sacked would imply he is never coming back, dropped implies he wasn't selected for that instance.

Hope he has an absolute pearler of a match and proves why he shouldn't have been dropped!
    On ya Sharpie!!

Suck it in Sharpie and do the job you're paid for (is what I would advise him). Some hard running and maybe one or two big hits should do the trick otherwise it just might be "adios amigo", comprende?
