"Rudd to blame for WA result: Hockey"

For once a "Force to blame" headline I wouldn't mind seeing:
"Force to blame for Carpenter's demise"
haven't seen any news today, are we any closer to a result in the election?
Last i heard was it was still looking like a hung parliament

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.
just read an article on the Perthnow website stating that Colin Barnett will become WA's 29th Premier after the Nationals pledged their support to the Liberal party. I also just saw it flash up on the TV under breaking news

Carpenter stands down as WA Labor leader
ABC Perth - Carpenter stands down as WA Labor leader
Outgoing WA Premier Alan Carpenter has resigned as Labor leader and conceded the defeat of the party in the WA state election.
He congratulated the new WA Liberal Premier Colin Barnett, who successfully negotiated an alliance with the Nationals.
The power-sharing deal will see a change of Government in Western Australia, a week after the state went to the polls.
Mr Carpenter, whose leadership of the party has been under strain since Labor's poor election performance, made the announcement at Governor Stirling Tower.
He says he will stay on in Parliament as the Member for Willagee.
"Yes I would dearly have loved more time," Mr Carpenter said.
"But that is the nature of politics and life, you don't always get what you want."
He never won an election in his own right, taking over from the former premier, Geoff Gallop, who resigned for personal reasons in January 2006.
Federal Opposition Leader Brendan Nelson says the West Australian election result represents a watershed shift in the national political landscape.
Dr Nelson has thanked the Nationals for deciding to support the Liberals and says it will make WA a stronger and more confident state.
