Kangaroos v Wallabies - why not?

Has Lote finally lost the plot? Should someone make a decision to sew his mouth shut?? You Decide

Kangaroos v Wallabies - why not?

LET's stage a hybrid Test, the Wallabies against the Kangaroos. Hold it on Australia Day, donate the gate to charity and settle once and for all who is better at what.

    Imagine the match-ups.

Matt Giteau on Greg Bird, Greg Inglis opposite Stirling Mortlock, Wycliff Palu up against Willie Mason, George Smith versus Paul Gallen.

You would get 80,000 fans at ANZ Stadium and a buzzing atmosphere.

Before the knockers smash me, just hear me out.

You would have to play it in the off-season and I reckon there would be no better day to stage it than Australia Day, a public holiday, when fans of both codes could get into it.

Go with two 40-minute halves, one of each code, and have four reserves each on the bench.

its actually not a bad idea, there are obvious flaws in it though, the kangaroos wouldnt be able to have a scrum, meaning for the wallabies there would be no point including props in the side. You would put some of the backrowers like Brownie and Mcmenimen in the side to start at prop.

also how many players would it be?

well, there could be scrums in the union half.
that would make the wallabies bench more interesting. because we would have to pick a team of players that could run and scrum when they were playing the different codes.
but then again the kangaroos would need to learn how to scrum in order to hold it in the union half.

its got possibilities. lote is actually impressing me of late. must be the wallabies jumper... "brain included" on the tag

Thats a great idea, i think there would have to be a few changes like uncontested scrums though for it to work.

What a douche, let the mungo game die a slow death, the less exposure the better...

    Bad choice of words Lote.

I think the idea is insane, a hybrid of the two codes Won't they have to have one big amalgamation of rules to make it work?

i saw ARKS play Armadale rabbitohs in an amalgamated match about 15 years ago. ARKS won easily after the mungos stopped going the knuckle at every opportunity.

It was the "I hope it gets a look in" line that got me. Erm - no...

Just play union if the ball goes in one half and league when it goes in the other, that should make it as confusing as it is stupid.

Bloody Tuqiri every time he scores it is like an open invitation to run his mouth. Hopefully soon his cousin will knock him out of the side.

i think he meant 40 mins of each code,
thats how i read it anyway. because it would be the only way it would work properly. because that way there could be scrums and such for the union half
