Seen in the 'Boks change room, locker No. 23, Excuses.

It's all getting a bit tiresome.

Too right. And the first penalty wasn't one - Palu was the tackler.

    Forgive the dribble.....

Seems to me whenever the Springboks lose a game, 'Boks management are quick to suggest the ref played a part in the defeat.

Players like Habana and Matfield seem to have taken it on the chin

I thought there was one dodgy call each way - when the boks were 5 metres out and attacking our line, Horwill knocked Januaries pass down and it was judged lost forward by the Saffas. Horwill should have been done for offside and really it was a professional foul so read into that what you will.

And Bakkies Botha should have got 10 for his off the ball shoulder charges at rucks, particularly the one that concussed Mortlock, there were others too.

I'd say that's pretty reasonable, 2 mistakes in a game. There were at least 20 players who made 2 mistakes or more.

PB, I'm picking you're not a de Villiers man. I think he's got a ways to go before he gets any real credability. I agree that VM and BH came across well and showed what proud men they are and how they don't like second.

That because he's a political puppet.

you are 100% correct about that Woody.

On Saturday you clould see how his inexperiance was filtering down onto players like Butch James and Januarie. They being slow in making desisions were a big problem behind the scrums. It ws as if there weren't a proper game plan to start of with, and when things went wrong there were no "plan B" whatsoever. The replacements he made in the second half was stupid and in a panic and that most probably cost South Africa the game. He is a political puppet that knows very little about rugby other than being an "previously disadvantaged" spectator.

The previous week's victory against NZ did not belong to him but to the experianced older players in the team.

PSorry for the spelling mistakes somehow my spelling editor doesn't work

Totally agree with you PB. The bench choice of 5-2 was stupid. Who puts 3 front rowers and 2 inside backs on the bench, esp with the new ELVs. There was no structure in their attack, and the only reason why the boks managed to break the line swas because of the ability of good players like Jean De Villiers and Pierre Spies. And last week's win was because of an individual's brilliance, not because of a well coached team.

Well, I think that the Springboks have been right up there and competitive in every Tri-Nations match they've played this year. The absence is of a game plan which will get them over the line....that's why Januarie's freaky pickup wins them the game. Does this come from De Villiers? Probably not, it's often the result of a whole bunch of experienced players playing a very well devised and effective system which they will continue to do because it works on the field. How much of this will be passed on to the junior players? probably a fair bit, let's face it will the young locks ignore big Vic when he says this is the best way to do stuff? I don't think so.

What you can be sure of is that there will be a slow deterioration in the gameplan until the team has lost all the senior players from this era and everybody in the team is running off a secondhand knowledge of structure. At that point, any gains that have been made over the last ten years will be a distant memory!

    yes it was
he wasnt a tackler because he did not go to ground
if he had of taken a knee he would be the tackler
but because he didnt he had to enter through the gate.
    correct call
