    Boks label Woodcock a cheat

    Boks label Woodcock a cheat
By SAM WORTHINGTON - The Dominion Post | Tuesday, 08 July 2008

Springboks coach Peter de Villiers has labelled All Blacks prop Tony Woodcock a scrummaging cheat as South Africa prepare for Saturday's rugby test in Dunedin without influential captain John Smit.

Smit, who is widely credited as the inspiration behind the Springboks' World Cup win, underwent scans yesterday for the groin injury he claims was suffered during Brad Thorn's lifting tackle that earned the New Zealand lock a week's suspension.

He is expected to be ruled out of the second Tri-Nations test and replaced as hooker by Bismarck du Plessis and as skipper by Victor Matfield.

De Villers went on the offensive yesterday, accusing All Blacks loosehead Woodcock of illegal tactics and boring in on Springbok tighthead CJ van der Linde.

The All Blacks, who held a clear edge at scrum-time, caused the "walking around of all the scrums by using their loosehead prop to scrum in and at times when he didn't scrum in he just came up", he said.

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Peter De Villiers first case of being a sore loser.
You don't see Australia complaining just because we suck in scrums.

Take every advantage you can and if you get away with all well and good. As i have said many times before Refs require more training in the art of scrumming to understand all aspects of it.

i also thought he was boring in and i saw the same tactic being used by the french against al baxter.

its almost obvious im really surprised the refs dont pick it up, maybe its the camera angle that we get to see it better or something.

if it becomes a problem at the scrum then take it lower makes it harder to bore, and keep good body position that's also makes it that much harder as well.
