All Blacks win but Ted sees red
By GREG FORD - Sunday Star Times | Sunday, 08 June 2008

In the official match programme handed out before last night's test All Blacks coach Graham Henry made a rare but hardly surprising admission that he was "sick" of the ongoing post-mortem following the All Blacks' shock exit in the Rugby World Cup quarterfinals at Cardiff.

In all but a few public appearances Henry, known as Ted, has kept his frustrations at the French defeat private. But for once he let his facade slip just a little when he said: "I think it's all been covered and quite frankly I'm sick of covering it all."

On more than one occasion he and his coaching staff have asked "when will it all end?"

Perhaps last night provided an answer as Henry's All Blacks responded to their critics by notching a victory in their first game of the year, beating Ireland 21-11 at Westpac Stadium in Wellington .

But the jury on this second coming of the one once referred to as the Great Redeemer is still well and truly out.

Of cause the Kiwi's won. It's not a World Cup.
