Springboks pick 11 non-whites for tour squad

South Africa coach Peter de Villiers has selected an unprecedented 11 non-white players in his 30-man Springbok squad, South African Rugby Union (SARU) officials said.

The world champions' squad will assemble in Bloemfontein on June 1 to prepare for the first of two matches against Wales, followed by a game against Italy

i can be corrected on this, but last time i heard anything, 80% or more of any businesses employees HAD to be black. no questions. 80%. that was last year, so it could have changed, but my dad said that this will soon be applied to the rugby teams. 80% of the players in the team will have to be black. i don't know if they will go to the extreme of 80% of the starting XV or something like that, but that means that of the 30 man springboks squad, 24 of the guys will be black, which will knock 11 white players out of the team. i don't know if this is still going to happen, but when it does, this would be a HUGE blow to their teams... putting guys on a rugby team because of their skin colour rather than ability won't help these world champions much...
