In a move that has been dubbed dubious, if not moronic but the Super 14 League, the Western Force has bolstered their backline by placing a giant at fullback.
With increasing pressure to perform, and dwindling fan numbers, the has attempted to alter their line up in anticipation of thier upcoming home games at Subiaco.
Having won only 1 in every 4 home games, Subiaco has become somewhat of a hoodoo for the . Consequently, the has sought to repel this unwanted record with the addition of a Giant into the lineup.
Olaf, the Hairy, King of the Giants of Romania, who stands at 6.3m tall and weights (sic) 880kg has been placed at full back to try and prevent the repetitive breech of the Force's defensive try line. When questioned about his new club, Olaf replied "AAAAAARGGGGHHHHH" shortly before consuming a nearby journalist, a club spokesman later stated that Olaf intended to say "I am ery excited about my new club. I feel that my seek and destroy style of game will work well with the ergonomics of the Force's tactical play, and should produce a thrilling resutl for fans and team alike."
Given Olaf's apparent height and weight advantages, he has also been touted for a possible role within the forward pack. When asked about the possibility Coach John Mitchell replied, "While he would enable the remainder of the forward pack to run free, I am concerned about the possibility of Olaf suffering from some form of Osteitis Pubis". Mitchell went on to explain that Giants, although renowned for their strength, are often volatile(?huh?) to groin injuries when forced to bend excessively.
In light of these facts, it may follow that Olaf will only play in his traditional fullback role. Regardless, it shoudl follow that the Force's defensive lines will be indeniably strengthened. The Force has also found a further use for Olaf's unique disposition. In an effort to reduce financial pressure, Olaf will also play the role of wacky waving inflatable arm tube men as part of his contract.

It doesn't bother me that they write about the Force but it does bother me that the article just seems completely unfunny. Back in the day you could count on the Sport section to be at least somewhat clever or at least vulgar. This one is neither. Bring back cheap shots on Shane Warne.

Oi! I go to UWA. Though admittedly I chose to sleep over Prosh. I like the concept that it is for charity but that's where it stops. It used to be funny now it tends to be lame...wait til I see my friend Brad who is the editor tm...i'll kick his arse...
