Urgently wanted - 'new' Bok selectors

SA Rugby have moved into overdrive in their search for the next group of Springbok selectors.

Jannie Ferreira, the man charged with assembling De Villiers's back-up staff, stated that finding the best group of national selectors is high on SA Rugby's list of priorities.

On Tuesday, Ferreira confirmed to OFM Sport that he would be meeting with South African Rugby Union (SARU) President Oregan Hoskins to discuss the issue.

"We cannot delay this any longer," said Ferreira.

This follows after discussions between Ferreira and new Springbok coach Peter de Villiers regarding the latter's management team, which is yet to be finalised.

It is uncertain whether Peter Jooste en Ian McIntosh will be retained as Springbok selectors - Ferreira could not provide confirmation on this, although he did say that was planning to discuss that point with Hoskins.

It is likely that most of the members of Jake White's Springbok management team will be retained, although doubts remain over the reappointment of team manager Zola Yeye.

Before SARU's annual general meeting in Cape Town, there had been a large divide between the Stofile and Hoskins camps over who should form part of the national selection panels. Reportedly, Stofile was heavily opposed to Jooste's reappointment.

The question now is whether Hoskins's re-election as President has harmed or helped the likes of Jooste and McIntosh.

But no final decision has been taken, and it is feasible at this stage that the current panel could yet be asked to continue in their posts.
