Challenge Cup Kicks Off This Weekend

Get on down to Rugby Park folks and support the next level of WA Rugby this weekend!
I am incredibly jealous that I can't be down for it, should be some really attractive rugby to watch with a lot of young fellas out to impress for Academy and Gold selection.
Hopefully someone can video or photgraph some of it and give match reports for those of us unable to get down from the sticks?
Here's a chance to really show how far rugby in WA has risen in profile and popularity by supporting this initiative.

Challenge Cup Kicks Off This Weekend

    RugbyWA

RugbyWA's preseason tournament, the Challenge Cup, kicks off this weekend at Rugby Park with eleven members of the Emirates Western Force squad set to be involved.

The competition will consist of four teams, and will run over three consecutive Saturday afternoon's at Perry Lakes. The professional players have been split as evenly as possible between the 22-man squads.

Players from the Emirates Western Force Academy, the 2005 Perth Gold side and local Grade competitions will make up the majority of the squads, which have been allocated by region.

Players from the Emirates Western Force squad include Gavin DeBartolo, Ben Ward, Luke Holmes, AJ Whalley, Pat O'Connor, Angus Scott, Tajhon Mailata, Josh Fuimaono, Matt Windle, Pek Cowan and Vitori Buatava. Zander Peden was not considered for selection in round one as he recovers from injury.

Matches will be played as double-headers, with this weekend's fixtures including East v West at 3.30pm, followed by Central against South at 5.00pm. The competition will continue on February 25 and March 4.

Don't they serve that down the Rugby Bar?
Might be worth them considering putting it on tap to get you and your ilk down there TEF?
Have mentioned before, but I would really encourage anyone with a bit of spare coin to "invest" in a RugbyWA membership too, this is seperate to the Force membership and really helps support club level rugby in the state.
You get entry to all Rugby Park fixtures, entry to the Members Bar and a Members Polo Shirt.
I will be again this year and I doubt I will get to any of the games however, I feel it important to pay back some of what rugby has given me in this state.
    Each to their own...

    Good call Burgs

Also one of the best perks of being a Rugby WA member is that you get priority allocation for test tickets.

... on the 6th day God played rugby and on the 7th day he rested, because he was sore and a little hungover.
