Falcons to feel the Force

Newcastle Falcons will welcome Super 14 opposition to Kingston Park in August, with the news that Australian powerhouse the Western Force have been lined up for a pre-season friendly.

The Australian side will face the Falcons on Friday August 8.

The Perth-based franchise is on British shores as part of its European tour during August and will take on the Falcons as part of a quality pre-season line-up.

The club will announce further details of its pre-season schedule in the near future, with plans for another home friendly match on the weekend of August 22/23/24 currently being finalised.

Falcons commercial director, Mick Hogan, said: "It is a pleasure to welcome a team of the profile of Western Force to Kingston Park, for what promises to be a quality pre-season match.

"We will announce ticket details for all supporters as the game nears, for what is sure to be popular fixture in the lead-up to the 2008/9 campaign."
