Matt is the quiet achiever. Not large in size but big in heart, Hodgo was voted Players’ Player in the match against the Bulls and the Chiefs, and is always in the thick of the action. He started his rugby career on the central coast of New South Wales playing at flyhalf or inside centre in both codes of the game. He moved to the backrow when he was 17. In his spare time, Matt likes to play golf and can be found on a surfboard four to five times a week at Scarborough or Trigg. He’s also studying Exercise Science by correspondence at Central Queensland University. Seconded to the Melbourne Rebels for the Mazda Australian Rugby Championship, Matt missed the early stages of the tournament with a knee injury and the final stages with a hamstring injury.
