    Misery Wants Company.

Well, it's only a few weeks before the season starts, and it would be interesting to know if other clubs are feeling the player pinch as much as Palmyra appears to be.

Pally have had a number of defections this year, principally to University , but also to Associates and Nedlands.

The Soaks defection leaves a particularly sour taste. Where does a club find the spare cash to give to a player to change clubs, even if he is as good as Mark Westcott, as has been reported back?

Pally appear to have made up some ground by judicious recruiting over East and in NZ, but the question is, will it be enough to make up for the losses. Time will tell.

How are things going in other clubs, is anyone in the know?

Next time we meet Ful - I'ill give you a cuddle - who knows what the season holds - my wish is for consistent and fair referees - at least that makes defeat bearable - perhaps we should have a beer and figure out how to clone Ecky

Well fulv we have both spoken about this and it seems that since the induction of the rugby across the whole board in W.A has become alot more professional - hence the strong recruiting going on!! But with no players getting paid regularly for representing their club any offer seems better than none, especially if your club has lost some of its better, more experienced players! I will be honest in saying that after a strong recruiting season last year we have lost a few players (not to mention any of the front row's names) but have picked up a few players that will hopefully but up to the standard of 1st grade but if not its good to have a bit of depth there. I don't know how clubs are going to combat this though as club rugby isn't officially at that semi-professional level yet..

Jeez I thought this was a personal ad

I know Rockingham Under Nines is going great guns and have made some important signings from Mandurah Pirates after the move to Lark Hill (Some parents living closer to the Lark Hill Ground than the Pirates home field) nothing to do with under the table inducements!

Nope, the only thing that has worked for attracting juniors to our club is the change in venue! We're now closer to Mandurah for some kids ergo we picked them up out of the deal....I would guess there's a club on the other side of town that might have had the same thing happen as a result (maybe Lions) I dunno

As for gettign them to do what I say......that's a bloody mystery I've yet to solve!

Wanneroo offered one of our flankers $5000 to turn over to them, but he knocked them back.

Watch your backs out there in clubland.

Maybe other Wanneroo players should ask questions about where their fees are going.

Joondalup seems to have done well with a fresh influx of South Africans to the Northern Burbs - which has swelled numbers nicely - whether this translates into success only time will tell - the usual band of alcoholics has reappeared for the 6ths though - should be a laugh if nothing else
