FORCE captain Nathan Sharpe says his players will work hard to repair the image of the club, tarnished by the sacking of troubled halfback Matt Henjak.

The Australian Rugby Union must agree to the move today, but is unlikely to sway from the hardline decision given that it said it would take matters into its own hands if not happy with the RugbyWA decision.

Sharpe said that the team supported the tribunal decision and he was personally disappointed for both players.

He was disappointed that the incident had tarnished the Force reputation.

"The players will be working very hard to make sure we change that," he said.

He adnmitted it was going to take time to repair the damage, but said they would get "on top of things".

The "true form" of the side would come through, he said.

"The waiting's over. We can get on with it and bounce back,'' he said.

The disciplinary committee found that Henjak had "savagely punched" Sare at the hotel 10 days ago. It is understood the argument started inside the hotel, was carried on to the toilets and ended outside in the garden.

Sare was also found guilty of breaching his contract. He was fined $5000 and banned for eight games, but his culpability in the incident was found to be significantly less that Henjak's.

Sare, who could not play for six weeks anyway because of his broken jaw, refused to comment to the waiting media after the hearing.
