Emirates Western Force Players Join Local Clubs

Here's the official list and story from Rugby WA folks.
Tell us your thoughts from your own Clubs' perspective.
Will be interesting to see how many, if any, games are played by the top players and if the players drafted influence the style the respective teams choose to play in '06 and beyond.
Will the lift in standard make Western Australia a more attractive place for "rugby immigrants" to come to?

    RugbyWA

The 40 squad members of the Emirates Western Force have nominated which Perth club they will play for in 2006.

Those players not included in the Tooheys New Super 14 squad will be involved in the Premier Grade competition.

Their involvement is expected to raise the standard of the local teams and give talented youngsters the opportunity to play with professionals.

The players will also have an important role in community rugby development programs and will assist in lifting the profile of the game at the grassroots level.

The nomination process took into account the playing depth of the clubs, player background and ability, age and experience, domestic situation and the need for some clubs to have players more regularly than others.

This is very big news in Sydney as the Sydney Clubs arent happy about losing their players so that they can play in what they call a "Third Grade Competition"

Apparently some Sydney clubs are talking about appeals to the ARU or some Court to get the RugbyWA adminstration to let the players play in the Top competition in the Country. Or something like that

Dummy last seen passing over Adelaide!
The players knew of the conditions and signed off on them with their contract.
RugbyWA seem so committed to making it happen that it wouldn't suprise me that if a player takes action then they will void his contract with the Force as a breach of that contract and allow a junior player to have the chance.
I have seen nothing in our media to suggest that RWA will compromise at all.
Reality is that with the APC comp that there is only a handful of games involved for the top to mid players and for mine the Sydney clubs should be focussing on bringing new young players for the Tahs than worrying about the handful in WA.
A friend of mine played Premier Grade here and Seconds in Sydney and he said he didn't think there was "that much" difference between the two. If we are to lift the standard here we have to attract the best players possible for our locals to get experience against.
And a strong WA means a successful use of ARU funds and a stronger depth of players for those clubs to then draw off!
Sorry Sage but Eastern Staters "annoy" me at times!

Word on the street is that he requested to go down there to help develop the area Pete. Good to see I reckon, even if he never plays a game and just helps promo and at training once a week.
