In case anyone doesn't have FOX or if you're out and about Saturday afternoon/evening after watching club rugby, 882 6PR will be calling the Force v Waratahs game from Sydney.
I've wrangled a couple of ex-Wallabies in Damian Smith and Mark Bell to be my backs and forwards experts, so I might even learn something.
We go to air at 5pm with a 40 minute preview - including an interview with former Force and Waratah lock John Welborn - and we're off air at 8pm, which means we have a 40 minute review. We'll be looking for things to talk about, so we'll have the talk back lines open before and after the game. Feel free to call 92211 882.
The station has bumped a game of AFL to let us cover the rugby, so it would be great if we can get some calls.
Let's hope we can call a win. Go the Force.
bumped an AFL Game? I'll listen for that!
Onya, Mick!
Dear Lord, if you give us back Johnny Cash, we'll give you Justin Bieber.
That makes it a live call doesn't it Mick.....even if you have got Foxtel a simulcast might be worth considering!
C'mon the![]()

Make sure you turn fox back on to hear Phil Kearns squirm when his beloved tahs are on the ropes though.......NOTHING could be sweeter than that!

The Force haven't exactly set the world on fire.....this year or seasons past. Commentators are actually paid to give an honest account of a teams chances. When the Force lose every week, it makes it hard to back them. Just sayin'
I find the "eastern states bias" line a touch unreasonable. If the Force started winning a few games, they might get some commentators arguing their case a bit more often.
Controversy corner
We're very bias towards the Force, if that's what you're after. But we're also happy to bag them if they stuff up and give praise to the opposition when it's due.
As for turning FOX down and us up, I'm just not sure of the delay. I think TV is more delayed than us, so we call it before it happens, which makes viewing a bit difficult.
But if you want to let us know how you think they'll go or have a yarn about how they went, give us a call on 92211 882.
Cheers
Mick
will be at the game - best of luck with the call mick

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa
If you speak to any SH rugby fan and they will tell you that the Aussie Commentators are the most biased out of the three teams with Clarkie and Kearns being the worst of the bunch.
Actually, I would generally opt for the SA commentators closely followed by the Kiwis for actual bias. They generally have one commentator who isn't too bad and another who can't help but talk about "us" and "them". I would plumb for the SA blokes because they can't even get the opposition names right half of the time. Our lot carry on like idiots that all seem to think of themselves as the "colour", but they cheerfully call against Australian teams if the decision was dubious. Not often you hear the other two calling poor decision on a forward pass that favours the home side, and they all call the scrum that happens in their head rather than the one on the ground (Kiwi prop scrum illegally - impossible! Must have been those bad Aussies...)
Hey Mick, how about calling the game based on the Fox delay?
So just either monitor Fox or make the calls 10 or so seconds after the action. Just sync it up some how?
Prefer your call on the game so if you could marry that up with vision...

Just set record on IQ and hit play when play starts on 6PR.
